Saighton Camp Sketch SchemeMoore Environment were commissioned by Bovis Homes to provide strategic landscape proposals, detailed landscape design and a long term management plan to assist in the creation of a sustainable, high quality development to complement and enhance established surrounding neighbourhoods. The scheme comprised residential housing and a commercial complex on a brownfield site near Chester.

To support the planning application Moore Environment provided a landscape masterplan and detailed planting plans with an image palette of proposed planting for incorporation into the Design and Access Statement. Key features of the design included:

  • incorporation of SUDs solutions including dry ponds and permanent ponds with decked bridges provided access across where the features intercepted amenity routes
  • artwork and raised planting beds within the mini-plaza of the commercial complex
  • play spaces and surfaces designed to optimise opportunities for natural play and provide a diverse range of play equipment suitable where possible users with a varying range of physical abilities
